Arshad Nadeem Out of Asian Athletics Championship 2023 Due to Elbow Injury

Javelin throw star Arshad Nadeem of Pakistan has been ruled out of the 2023 Asian Athletics Championship in Thailand due to a severe injury.

“Pakistan Athletics Federation President Akram Sahi said that Arshad Nadeem has undergone a major elbow surgery due to which he cannot participate in this year’s Asian Athletics Championship 2023.

The 24th edition of the Asian Athletics Championship is scheduled to be held this year from July 12 to 16, 2023 in Pattaya, Thailand.

Pakistan Athletics Federation President Akram Sahi added that the organizers of the National Games were advised by WAPDA not to participate in this year’s Asian Athletics Championship, but unfortunately, they did not follow WAPDA’s precautionary advice.

The injury dashed Arshad Nadeem’s dreams of competing in the Asian Athletics Championship and has also raised concerns about his overall fitness for the upcoming events.

The management did not listen to us and now we are seeing the results of this negligence. Sethi added that this is a big blow for both our country and Arshad Nadeem.

Arshad Nadeem recently underwent surgery on his elbow. After the surgery, he was engaged in light training at the PSB coaching center. He had recently resumed javelin throwing.

Renowned athlete star Arshad Nadeem while talking to the media earlier this year said that his fitness will be known when he starts training in full swing.
