Abdul Razzaq Told the Secret About the Salaries of the Players

Cricketer Abdul Razzaq talks about his earnings as a player of the national cricket team.

During a YouTube interview, the host asked, ‘Did you earn more money from leagues or from national cricket?’, Abdul Razzaq replied, ‘We earned more from the Pakistan team, at that time there were a lot of ODIs and Test matches. He said that in 1996, 10,000 rupees were received per match, and in the early 2000s, 2.5 lakh rupees were received because the money was too much for first-class cricket in India at that time. Abdul Razzaq said that most of his earnings came from playing in the national cricket team. He said that there were no central contracts before 2001.

He told me that before my retirement, the fee for an ODI match was five to six lakh rupees, while the fee for a test match was Rs. He said that now the salaries of the players have doubled.

Abdul Razzaq started his career in 1996 when he was 17 years old, he made his debut against Zimbabwe. He was part of the Pakistan Cricket Team squad that won the ICC World Cup T20 2009. He played 265 ODIs and 46 Tests.
