Will Pakistan Boycott the Asia Cup After the Hybrid Model is Rejected? PCB Announced

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) denied reports of Pakistan boycotting the Asia Cup after the hybrid model was rejected. According to the website ‘Cricket Pakistan’, it was suggested by Chairman PCB Najam Sethi that the Asia Cup matches that will be played between Pakistan and India should be held at a neutral venue. There were reports that if this proposal was rejected, Pakistan would boycott the Asia Cup.

The Pakistan Cricket Board has denied these reports but is avoiding any explanation in this regard. According to Indian media, the hybrid model proposed by Pakistan has been rejected. However, ignoring India’s stand, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Afghanistan has supported Pakistan’s proposal and agreed to host the tournament in Sri Lanka. It should be noted that the final announcement of the venue and schedule of the Asia Cup will be made in the ACC meeting which is going to be held in the same month.
