According to private TV “JeoNews”, two rounds of meetings with PCB officials were held during the visit of ICC officials, during which ICC officials visited historical sites and Safe City Authority followed by Chairman Greg Barclay and Chief Executive. Jeff Allardyce left for Dubai from Lahore. According to the sources, during the meetings, the Pakistan Cricket Board officials did not give any assurance of going to India to play the World Cup.
The PCB has made it clear to the ICC that going to India to play the World Cup depends on the situation of the Asia Cup, if India shows any flexibility and talks about Pakistan’s formula, the future will be decided. Presenting its stance on participation in the World Cup and Pakistan openly discussing India’s attitude with ICC officials, the PCB made India’s participation in the World Cup subject to government approval.
During the visit, the ICC officials were briefed on the movement of the teams and the ICC officials appreciated the security arrangements during the visit of the Safe City Authority.
