Ahsan Iqbal said in an interview given to the Voice of America that “even after the import of oil from Russia, there will not be much difference in oil prices.” When Pakistan starts importing large quantities of oil from Russia, the prices will come down a bit.”

He said, “Initially we are importing a very small amount of oil. However, in a period of 6 months to a year, more imports will start, which will help reduce the prices of petroleum products in Pakistan. It should be noted that negotiations regarding the import of oil between Pakistan and Russia have been going on for a long time and an agreement has been reached between the two countries this year, after which the first shipment of oil from Russia will be delivered to Pakistan next week.
