ICC updated its ODI batting rankings on Wednesday, February 8, 2023. And surprisingly Pakistan captain Babar Azam has retained the top position. And just a few weeks ago, Babar Azam won the ICC Cricketer of the Year (2022) award, and the ICC also gave him this award. Pakistan Cricket (PCB) Chairman Najam Sethi presented this trophy to Babar Azam. Babar Azam is on top of the list with 887 points.
Rassie van der Dussen scored the highest 149 runs in the first two matches of the three-match ODI series between England and South Africa. Rossie van der Dussen remains in second position on the table.
In the list of Australian batsmen, David Warner remains in the third position, another South African player, Quinton de Kock, is in the fourth position, and Pakistani player Imam ul Haq is in the fifth position respectively.
And in the bowling racking for the first time, India’s Mohammad Siraj is at the top position with 729 points.
Trent Boult of New Zealand is second with 708 points and Mitchell Starc of Australia is third with 665 points.
In the T20 batting rankings, India’s Surya Kumar Yadav is first, Pakistan’s Mohammad Rizwan is second and Pakistani captain Babar Azam is third.
And Afghanistan’s right-arm spinner Rashid Khan is in first place with 698 points in T20 bowling. And there is only one Pakistani bowler Shaheen Afridi on this list but he is also number eight.
And Babar Azam has also bagged the 2022 ODI Player of the Year award.
Babar Azam scored eight centuries and 15 fifties at an average of 54.12 in 44 matches in 2022 in which he scored 2598 runs.
This is the first time that a Pakistani player has won the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy twice and Shaheen Afridi won the trophy for his performances in 2021.
